Legion Windwalker Monk Info

(As taken from WalkingtheWind.com)

WINDWALKER STATS

At lv100 we’ll most likely be aiming for Versatility due to how high stats are and how little versatility is on current gear.

At lv110, currently Mastery and Haste are the best stats.

WHAT TALENTS SHOULD BE USED FOR LEVELING, DUNGEONS, ETC...

The optimal single target set up happens to be very good/optimal for most AoE situations, excellent for leveling and very smooth. It consists of Energizing Elixir, Chi Wave/Chi Burst, Rushing Jade Wind and Chi Orbit. Tuning can very easily change some of that.

WHAT ARTIFACT TRAITS ARE BEST?

This is actually more straight forward than it may appear. The answer is simple: Go Clockwise. Despite moving Fists of the Wind to the left side of the path, clockwise remains the strongest path to take. Once you get both Fists of the Wind and Gale Burst, then go back toward the start and grab Rising Winds before finishing the remaining traits. It really is that simple.

Clockwise is a clear winner in sims and logic. The worse traits are packed in the left of the tree.

Going for Crosswinds/Transfer the Power early is incredibly powerful, then picking up Tornado Kicks and finishing around with the good points around Gale Burst, ignoring Light on Your Feet and Death Art is currently the best path.

RELICS

Again, something that may seem difficult, but is actually simple. The main relics that you want are ones that modify Fists of the Wind > Rising Winds > Inner Peace. For AOE you’ll want to aim for Fists of the Wind > Power of a Thousand Cranes > Inner Peace. Fists of Fury is our hardest hitting ability by a landslide, so any extra damage to it is the biggest gain. It is currently unclear how much of an ilvl increase/loss would merit switching away from a relic with Fists of the Wind ranks, I’m sure there is a point to it, but for now Fists of the Wind is all that matters.

WHAT DOES MY SINGLE TARGET PRIORITY LOOK LIKE? AOE PRIORITY?

SINGLE TARGET

Touch of Death > Fists of Fury > Strike of the Windlord > Rushing Jade Wind > Rising Sun Kick > Chi Wave > Blackout Kick

Only use Blackout Kick if you’re very high on resources and won’t miss a Rising Sun Kick or Rushing Jade Wind because of it.

AOE

For 2+ targets, Spinning Crane Kick is more chi efficient than Rising Sun Kick.

Touch of Death > Fists of Fury > Strike of the Windlord > Rushing Jade Wind > Spinning Crane Kick > Chi Burst

SHOULD I CHANGE BETWEEN ASCENSION AND ENERGIZING ELIXIR FOR AOE?

Energizing Elixir clearly gives the best amount of resources for now, even on single target. Due to how chi dependent our AoE is, it is likely that Energizing Elixir will be even better at that.

RJW FOR SINGLE TARGET?

Yes, it is more chi efficient than Rising Sun Kick, and will easily amount for 15% of your overall damage, which is an easy 8% gain over what Blackout Kick would have given you. Hit Combo has trouble keeping up with that, and for 2-6 targets it pulls even farther ahead.

Looks quite good but in terms of Energizing vs. Ascension. When using Ascension it may also be good to stat into some extra crit additionally. Far too many times I seen energy capping issues arising in Legion with ascension.
