Just introducing myself, I'm a new Warrior in Zealot and wanted to say Hi to you guys. Currently it looks like Arms will be the most viable route for raiding, so how many of you will be leveling as and focusing on Arms in Legion?

Personally, I might do 13 artifact traits in Arms and Fury and then see how tuning goes before launch of raid to pick a spec to take to 20.

Will be focusing on Arms myself.

Howdy Enzo,

Alcar here from K team, always glad to see more people in the warrior forums with new and fresh ideas, thoughts and opinions. It's a nice break from Bulsa always asking if this transmog or that makes his toon look hot :D

At the moment i'm inclined to level as fury, right out the gate, originally i was planning on actually partially leveling my tank artifact since they should be in higher demand than just pure dps for the weeks of heroic spamming we'll have to do for artifact power etc. But if arms does end up being solidly better i'll likely lvl arms instead as the os.

I personally have never been a huge fan of arms and atm have only a cursory understanding of its new rotation. I'd like to hear what you know about it since what knowledge i do have may be old and outdated so please feel free to correct me on what i think i do understand :P. From what i hear it's pretty intense as far as apm somewhere over 100+ maybe 110+, which can be hard on the ol fingers. Also i heard that it involves a great deal of watching your swing timer and then leaping out to charge back in to keep rage up. And that there no longer is a real reason to even hit execute sub 20% unless you are fortunate enough to get the legendary ring.

I'll probably wait till i've gotten at least 2 ticks of artifact knowledge before i start spending ap into my os artifact whichever it decides to be. I still expect a balance pass before the first raid, and after the first week or two. I know in wod they squashed the hamstring spam and leap out and back for rage, for arms before so i'm interested to see if they will do so again or do something to address how weak execute is for arms.

I basically want to keep my options open for not having to pick arms for as long as possible :D

anyhoo, welcome to the guild, feel free to join the warrior channel if you haven't already (bulsa mentioned it in a post on our warrior forums), and i'll see you in our class hall come Tues!

Hey Enzo,

Cerastes here, I'm the Prot Warrior tank for K team. Glad to see some fresh faces here on the warrior side of things, as we don't tend to get a lot (or they just keep to themselves.

I'll be leveling as protection simply due to it being, in my opinion the best spec to level as. I'll probably start working on my Fury or Arms artifact depending on whats best at the time when I'm fairly happy with my protection artifact's progression.

Welcome to the guild and hope to see you around!

Alcar, so pretty much Arms is outperforming Fury on most of the bosses in Emerald Nightmare. Fury is definitely better for Mythic dungeons.

Honestly you'd be fine playing Fury. So Arms is definitely 100-120+ APM but most of it is macro'd. The Focused Rage build is what the best raid build.

Check that out, I'm not sure if you're familiar with Archimtiros or not, but he's one of the main Warrior theorycrafters. That's his basic Arms guide and it should give you a good idea of the spec in Legion.

The high APM comes from using Battle Cry, with Deadly Calm taken all of your abilities are free. You'll basically want to spam Focused Rage & Hamstring (lol) along with your rotation. The idea behind it is you're technically spending free rage which contributes to Anger Management, hence faster Battle Cry and more burst. Also, Hamstring does do damage (however little) but more importantly still procs Tactician. The easiest way to do this is to Macro Focused Rage & Hamstring to your Battle Cry to use both right away on activation & possibly a second Focused Rage & Hamstring macro bound to scroll wheel or something. You'll only have to deal with this for 5 seconds every 30 or so seconds (if you're lucky).

I'd definitely recommend you guys join the Warrior discord, it's an amazing resource of bleeding edge information and there's what, about 2,000 other Warriors from around the world in there? Check it out:

Cerastes, Prot definitely is the best leveling spec, I was considering it myself. Still not entirely sure, it's between Prot & Arms. Fury has no Victory Rush or Second Wind and lots of down time due to that.

I'll definitely be posting around here more often.

So apparently I made a mistake in my earlier post. The rage spent during Deadly Calm doesn't affect Anger Management. The spamstring macro is simply to get more Tactician procs.

Figured I would note that here before I look like a noob :|
